Meet the Founder I am a proud mother, daughter, sister, friend, educator, and an unapologetic southern girl. I am also the creator of Sweet Magnolia Candle Company.

I wish I could tell you that I've been making candles for as long as I can remember, but that would not be the case. You see, I actually turned to candle making as a form of much needed self-care. In 2020, I was busy trying to figure out how to navigate the unprecedented waters of a global pandemic-Covid 19, and work around the clock as a caregiver to my mother who was courageously battling Stage 4 Colon cancer. Candle making quickly became my soothing light in the midst of life's darkness.

What began as a mere hobby soon ignited into a passionate endeavor, illuminating my path towards self-discovery and healing, and ultimately becoming a beacon of hope for me and those around me.

At Sweet Magnolia Candle Company, we have elevated the art of candle-making to a new level, encompassing the essence of luxury, nostalgia, and sustainability in every handcrafted creation. Our candles are more than just a source of light; they are a voyage back in time, evoking cherished memories and creating new ones.

October is a tough month for me. It's the month my mother passed, and it's always a reminder of that deep loss. But it's also a month where I find solace in small, meaningful things—like lighting my 23rd@Main candle.

Growing up on 23rd Street near Main Street, my childhood was filled with beautiful memories—memories that come flooding back with the familiar, creamy vanilla scent of this candle. It’s like stepping back into my childhood home, where the air was filled with love, laughter, and a sense of comfort that only home can bring.

Whenever I start to feel the weight of sadness, I light my 23rd@Main candle and let those beautiful memories take me back to some of the most amazing times in my life. It's my little way of holding onto the peace and love that will forever be a part of me.

The one word that comes to mind when I think about where I am in my life is Grateful. Things don’t always turn out the way that I plan, oh but God! His plans never fail. I am thrilled to be one of the Tenacious Twelve members of the Black Candle Makers Club Fall 2024 Cohort. This cohort stretches me and my “expertise” in ways I couldn’t imagine. Lol. But, the BCMC cohort has also proven to be a safe space to learn and grow. I’m grateful to @jewelz_bcmc and the BCMC Team! This is a dream come true! #bcmcfall2024cohort BCMCcohortTunes
